Bikram Yoga Galway is a purpose built National Award winning studio and the only one of its kind in the West of Ireland. Bikram Yoga is a 90 minute class consisting of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises and is performed in a room heated to 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
Every class is suitable for a “first class,” all ages and all levels of fitness. This yoga series was scientifically designed to warm, stretch and strengthen every muscle, ligament, tendon and joint, and promote the development of a strong, lean, more balanced body
In 2005, Tracy spent months in Los Angeles immersed in an in-depth study of Bikram Yoga with Yoga Masters Bikram and Rajashree Choudhury.
Bikram is the single most vigorous, challenging , aerobic, fun and effective yoga series in the world. More than a million people in over 750 studios around the world practice Bikram. Bikram personally trains and certifies his instructors to ensure that his methods and philosophy are preserved and properly taught.
Tracy is the only qualified Bikram yoga instructor in Galway City.
Bikram Yoga is done in a HOT room to increase circulation and warm your muscles. The heat allows for a deeper workout, creates a cardiovascular benefit and prevents injury. The postures also stimulate the organs, glands and nerves to a state of self-regeneration by moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body, restoring all systems to healthy working order.
The heat also flushes toxins out of the body facilitating calorie burning (up to 1000 calories in one single session). It is common to lose centimetres of shape in a very short period of time!
